Mizoram's Thenzawl Peace City greenfield project gets core committee approval

A meeting of the Core Committee on Thenzawl Peace City, chaired by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, was held at the CM’s Conference Hall to review progress on the proposed Greenfield City project under the Thenzawl Peace City initiative.

Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary of Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA), informed the committee that under the SASCI Urban Planning Reforms, the state could secure approximately Rs. 150 crore for thematic Greenfield City development.

The funding will be allocated through a challenge-mode selection process. He noted that the proposal for a Greenfield City within the Thenzawl Peace City area, involving the Tourism and AH&Vety Departments, has been earmarked for submission under this funding window, which prompted the convening of the meeting.
