Nearly 4,000 paramilitary personnel have been dispatched to be deployed in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Ayodhya by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) ahead of the Supreme Court verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute.
The Centre has also issued orders to all the states to remain alert ahead of the Ayodhya verdict. A general advisory has been sent to all states and Union Territories to deploy sufficient security personnel in all sensitive places.
The development took place in order to ensure that no untoward incident is reported.
The ministry has sent 40 companies of paramilitary forces comprising about 100 personnel to Uttar Pradesh to assist the state government in maintaining law and order.
The Supreme Court judgement on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute is expected before November 17. The date is significant as Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will be retiring on that very day.
