North Bengal is one of the most important geo-strategic locations for our nation. It is also one of the most ethnically, linguistically and culturally diverse regions of our nation, where people have lived in harmony since time immemorial. However, despite being resource rich and economic perspective, our region today severely lacks behind the rest of India, due to utter neglect, discrimination, apathy and suppression meted out by the TMC Bengal government for the past 9-years.
Respecting the immense potential of North Bengal towards nation building, on Monday, Hon’ble BJP National President Shri. JP Nadda ji visited North Bengal in Siliguri to review the current political situation prevalent in West Bengal state, with focus on North Bengal region.
Upon his arrival at Bagdogra Airport, Shri Nadda Ji was greeted by BJP party workers and supporters in colorful traditional attires welcomed the Hon'ble President, showcasing the beautiful cultural diversity of our North Bengal region. From the airport, Shri Nadda Ji straight away headed to Naukaghat for paying homage to Thakur Panchanan Barma, the great Rajbanshi leader and social reformer and then to offered his prayers to Maa Kali at the Anandmayee Kalibari in Siliguri.
Nadda ji met with BJP MPs, MLAs, party Office Bearers and grassroots workers from all the 8 districts of North Bengal. Nadda ji also met with representatives of various communities during the visit and interacted with them about the various issues concerning the people of the region.
After meeting with various party officials and other concerned stakeholders, Nadda Ji highlighted how TMC led West Bengal Government under Mamata Banerjee has contributed towards the decline of West Bengal in social, economic, cultural, law and order, and overall development.
In his address, Shri Nadda Ji highlighted the achievements of the BJP government under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modiji, and stated that while the BJP Government have focussed towards the empowerment of all sections of the society, the TMC government in West Bengal has been following divide and rule policy.
Nadda ji stated how TMC has failed the people of the state and kept them deprived of various central Government schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Kisan Samman Nidhi. He assured the people that if BJP party comes to power in the state, all central schemes and welfare benefits will be implemented within a month in West Bengal as well.
Nadda ji also reasserted BJP commitment made to the people of my constituency in our 2019 Sankalp Patra of - finding Permanent Political Solution for the people of Darjeeling Hills, Terai, and Dooars, and the inclusion of 11 left-out Gorkha tribes into the ST list. He asserted that Gorkhas have been loyal to BJP and have helped in BJPs growth in the state, and said that, we will be fulfilling the commitments we have made in our Sankalp Patra.

Nadda Ji has received many suggestions for the development of the North Bengal region – concerns of tea and cinchona garden workers, farmers and forest dwellers, infrastructure development, Smart City project, and culture and language development of indigenous communities, Multispeciality hospital, Central University and various other issues concerning our region.
With regards to the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act law, Hon’ble President said the implementation of the Act is important and beneficial to the people of West Bengal. At present the rules are being defined for the Act to be implemented as there were some delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Government will soon work towards the implementation of the law.
He assured that the party will study the feedback and inputs received and will deliver a holistic package for the development of the entire North Bengal region.
With this visit, Nadda ji has rejuvenated and motivated the ordinary citizens of the region that their faith and support to BJP will be honoured and respected. He has also given hope to the people of North Bengal that better days are ahead for our region and people.
With his visit, our party base is energized and it is this energy and enthusiasm which they will now take to each and every village in the region.
