Arnold Dix, a tunneling expert from Australia, played a significant role in the entire Uttarkashi rescue operation and provided technical support that eventually led to the safe extraction of all the trapped workers.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese hailed Indian authorities and international tunneling expert Arnold Dix after the successful rescue of the 41 workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand. After more than 400 hours of rigorous efforts, many hurdles and millions of prayers, the workers were finally pulled out of the tunnel on Tuesday night.

On Australian PM's congratulatory message on the successful rescue of the trapped workers, Dix said, ""Thanks, Mr Prime Minister... It's been my privilege and pleasure to show that we are not just fantastic in cricket, but we do other things as well, including tunnel rescue. 41 people are all out, all safe. Everything is perfect."

The Australian PM posted on X, "A wonderful achievement by Indian authorities. Proud that Australian Professore Arnold Dix played a role on the ground".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the rescuers for their heroic efforts in saving the trapped workers. He stated that their actions have given the workers a new lease of life and set an 'example of humanity and teamwork'.
