AAP's Atishi leads rally outside Tihar Jail with Insulin supply for Kejriwal

A contingent of AAP supporters, led by Delhi Minister Atishi Marlena, converged outside Tihar Jail on April 21, bringing attention to a pressing issue, that is, the scarcity of insulin, "critical" for managing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's blood sugar levels, which reportedly soared past 300.

“We are here representing AAP workers and the residents of Delhi, bringing insulin. Kejriwal used to require 54 units of insulin. The Tihar administration had ceased providing insulin on orders from the BJP. Kejriwal used to require 54 units of insulin,” Atishi said, adding, “His blood sugar level has remained at 300 for the past 10 days. Such elevated levels necessitate insulin.”

Atishi asserted that the abrupt halt in insulin supply, allegedly orchestrated by the BJP, posed a grave risk to Kejriwal's health. She emphasised Kejriwal's dependence on insulin, citing medical necessity and the potential life-threatening consequences of unmanaged diabetes.

However, the Tihar Jail administration countered these claims, presenting a different narrative. They stated that Kejriwal had transitioned away from insulin therapy months ago, relying solely on oral medication. This conflicting account added layers of complexity to the ongoing debate surrounding Kejriwal's health and the circumstances within Tihar Jail.
