Tensions flared in Delhi today as BJP workers marched towards the Secretariat, demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently in ED custody over the Liquor Excise Policy case.
The protest is led by state BJP workers in huge numbers, aimed to highlight what they deem as an inability to govern from jail.
The Delhi police intervened, employing water cannons to the BJP workers during their protest march to disperse the crowd, citing concerns over public safety.
Speaking amidst the chaos, BJP candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha Constituency Bansuri Swaraj criticized Kejriwal's leadership, stating, "Running the government from jail is unfavorable to the people of Delhi... I want to ask Arvind Kejriwal why his soul is asleep. You should resign based on ethics... They are doing press conferences to create false sympathy..."
