During a meeting at the White House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi rekindled memories of past US-India camaraderie, recalling the grand “Howdy, Modi” event in Houston and “Namaste Trump” in Ahmedabad.
Addressing US President Donald Trump, Modi emphasized their shared efforts in strengthening bilateral ties and hinted at an even faster pace of collaboration if both leaders secure their respective re-elections.
"As soon as I entered this room, my friend reminded me of Ahmedabad and the cricket stadium where we held a big rally," Modi remarked, reminiscing about the massive public events that cemented their rapport. Acknowledging Trump’s personal contribution to elevating India-US relations, he expressed confidence that in Trump’s second term, cooperation would accelerate even further.

“I firmly believe that in your second term, we will work with even more speed. As I have promised the people of India that in my third term, we will work at triple the speed, I believe that with President Trump, we will work at twice the speed during his next four years,” Modi declared, setting the stage for a high-velocity diplomatic vision.
The remarks, laced with political undertones, have sparked speculation about both leaders’ electoral ambitions, with Modi’s ‘triple speed’ governance pledge aligning with Trump’s hope for a second term.
