In a heartfelt plea, the mother of Raj Singh Kushwaha — one of the accused in the sensational Raja Raghuvanshi murder case — has come forward to defend her son, insisting on his innocence and claiming he is being framed.
“My son is not like that. He can never do something like this,” she told reporters, her voice choked with emotion. “He is very young and has been the sole support of our family ever since my husband passed away in 2020. Raj has taken care of his three sisters and me.”
According to her, Raj began working at the office of Govind, the brother of Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the case. “I have no idea about any relationship between Sonam and my son,” she said, dismissing any suggestion of a deeper link. “Please save my son — this is my only request. I don't know who is behind this... but my son is innocent.”

She further expressed her helplessness in the ongoing investigation, saying, “I can’t even go to Meghalaya... I have no one to take me there.”
Raj Kushwaha is one of the four men currently in police custody in Shillong as Meghalaya Police probe the shocking murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, whose body was found in a gorge near Sohra on June 2. The case, which has garnered nationwide attention, is unfolding across multiple states, revealing a disturbing web of alleged betrayal and premeditated violence.
