Uttar Pradesh: Train climbs platform at Mathura railway station

An Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) train hailing from Shakurbasti met with an accident at Mathura Junction in Uttar Pradesh. 

The train suddenly left the track and climbed onto the platform.

Fortunately, there were no passengers present on the train when this accident took place. Chaos followed at the railway station after this accident when people started running out of fear. 

There is no news of any casualty in this accident as of now, however, an investigation into how a train left the tracks and climbed onto the platform is underway.

In the video shared by the news agency, the engine of the train could be seen mounted on the platform because of which the platform has been broken and several parts of the EMU are also damaged. Several trains including the Malwa Express passing through Mathura junction were affected due to the bizarre incident.

Reportedly, this EMU train was coming from Shakurbasti and reached Mathura Junction at around 10:49 PM on Tuesday. 

After this, all the passengers abroad got down but, then the train moved away from the track and climbed onto the platform.
