Assam: Major drug bust in Abhayapuri, three arrested with suspected heroin

In a significant anti-drug operation, police in Bongaigaon district conducted a successful raid in the Deohati area under Abhayapuri.

The operation led to the seizure of 16 containers suspected to be filled with heroin. A tempo vehicle bearing registration number AS 26C 6974 was also seized during the raid.

Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. The accused have been identified as Afzal Khan, Khalek Ali, and Samer Ali — all residents of Chirang district.

Police continue to investigate further links in the case as part of their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
