The boys from India (also known as the 'Men in Blue') have registered a thumping win against arch rivals Pakistan in a World Cup 2019 Group match held on Sunday. After posting a dominating 337/5, the 'Men in Blue' restricted Pakistan to 212/6. India won the match by 86 runs by the Duckworth-Lewis method.
The Pakistani batsmen came up short while chasing a mammoth total of 337. Chasing such a mammoth total in such a high-pressure encounter was always going to be a tough ask, and Pakistan were foiled by a disciplined Indian bowling lineup. Among the Pakistani batsmen, Babar Azam (48) and Fakhar Zaman (62) showed some resistance, but could only delay the inevitability of an Indian win.
Earlier, the Indian team was propelled to a gigantic 337 by a crackling 140-run knock by Rohit Sharma.
With this result, India remain unbeaten in their World Cup 2019 campaign.
India next play Afghanistan on June 22.
