GUWAHATI: Former Assam chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta was rushed to a private hospital here last night after he complained of "uneasiness."
Mahanta has been to be suffering from blood pressure issues and heart ailments for some time. Doctors treating him said his condition was stable.
The 68-year-old was discharged from hospital after several days of treatment in September.

A signatory of the historic Assam Accord 1985 and a former president of All Assam Sttudents' Union, Mahanta held the office of the chief minister twice from 1985 to 1990 and 1996 to 2001.
He is currently an Asom Gana Parishad MLA from Barhampur in Middle Assam's Nagaon district.
