NEW DELHI: Facebook and Google have asserted that they are working towards meeting the compliance requirements as the new IT rules for social media companies take effect from Wednesday in India.
Announced earlier in February the new rules required social media giants like Facebook, Twitter, Instagran and WhatsApp to additional rules.
These include points like appointing a chief compliance officer, resident grievance officer as well as a nodal contact.
Facebook, on Tuesday, announced that it is working to implement operational processes and intending to comply with it.
Few more issues need to be discussed which require more engangement, added the social media giant.
The possibility of the ban created an atmosphere of confusion and panicky among netizens. There were many tweets, posts and even memes that were doing on the social platforms speculating the aftermath of the ban
