Bangladeshi man held with arms and cartridges in Agartala

Tripura Police on Tuesday, January 21, detained one Bangladeshi national and seized arms, cartridges from his possession from Milan Chakra area of Agartala city.


Speaking on the issue Sadar Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Deba Prasad Roy said that based on a tip off they have carried out a raid at Milan Chakra area in Agartala. 


"We have received the information that one Bangladeshi living there as a tenant for the last 6 months with arm and ammunition. However we have carried out the raid and detained one Shamaj Prio Chakma and seized one 9 MM Pistol, 25, 000 Bangladeshi currency and Rs 2 lakh Indian currency, 2 Cartridge", said the SDPO.


He said that Police have registered two cases against him. 


"He is a resident of Khagrachari of Bangladesh. Everything is under investigation", he added.
