Tripura Royal Scion and former Chairman of Tipra Motha, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, stated on Tuesday that by ignoring the indigenous people of this state, the government of India can't achieve "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas".
Debbarma shared his views with reporters while inspecting the preparedness for an indefinite hunger strike on February 28 at Hatai Kotor, formerly known as Baramura Hills, in the West District of Tripura.
“I came here to inspect the preparations. Our community is first and more important than politics and party. If the government of India provides something to us, it will benefit not only Tipra Motha but also the Tiprasa (indigenous) people. If today our children get into schools and can write and read Kokborok in the Roman script, it will not only be for Tipra Motha leaders but for everyone. Around 95 per cent of the indigenous population is landless, and if we obtain land rights, it will also be for everyone,” said Pradyot.

He emphasized that he is working to secure benefits for his community and claimed that until his last breath, he will fight to secure something for indigenous people.
“I am not well, and I know I can't endure more struggles. So, until my last breath, I will fight to secure something for my people. I don’t aspire to be a minister, MLA, or MP just to get a car or house, as I already have those. If you want to serve the people, you have to make sacrifices. The Government of India should also understand that 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' is not possible without considering us. We are not against anyone. I have been working for my people. The government should provide assurance in writing,” he added.
