The 16th Finance Commission, which arrived in Tripura on Wednesday, January 29 for a three-day visit, commenced its official engagements with a series of meetings starting at 9:30 AM on Thursday, January 30.
The commission's members, led by its chairman, held discussions with Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and other cabinet ministers, alongside senior government officials.
As per the official itinerary, on January 30th, the Finance Commission team will arrive at the Secretariat at 9:25 AM for a meeting with the state cabinet ministers. At 12 PM, they will hold a press conference at the State Guest House.
The team’s schedule for the afternoon includes a series of meetings, with Public Representatives and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) at 1:30 PM, followed by representatives from Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) at 2:00 PM. At 2:40 PM, a meeting will be held with the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) representatives, followed by a session with political parties at 3:15 PM. The day will conclude with a meeting with representatives from Trade, Commerce, and Industry at 4:20 PM, all taking place at the State Guest House.
On January 31st, the team will visit the Tripura Sundari Temple at 9:00 AM, followed by a visit to Narkel Kunjam at 11:00 AM. On February 1st, they will tour the Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary at 9:00 AM, followed by a visit to Purbasha at 10:30 AM. The team is scheduled to depart the state at 1:30 PM.
