Tripura Police today arrested one person and seized Yaba tablets worth over Rs 3 crore from Melaghar under Sepahijala District.
Speaking on the issue, Sepahijala District Additional Superintendent of Police, Rajib Sutradhar, said that under the Melaghar Police Station, they had seized a huge consignment of drugs.
“Based on a tip-off about the smuggling of a large consignment of drugs, we set up an ambush in the Indiranagar area with plainclothes police. During that time, a four-wheeler approached at high speed, and we detained it. However, the suspect attempted to flee and crashed into a tree, causing injuries to some police personnel. Upon searching the vehicle, we seized 2,60,000 Yaba tablets worth over Rs 3 crore,” he added.
