Tripura Police arrested two Bihar men and seized a country-made pistol from Dharmanagar Sub-division under North District today, January 25, a day ahead of Republic Day celebrations.
Speaking on the issue, North District Superintendent of Police, Avinash Rai, IPS, said that this morning, Tripura Police, along with the District Intelligence Branch and the Dharmanagar Sub-divisional Police Officer, carried out a raid around 2 PM based on a tip-off about two men from Bihar in Dharmanagar possessing arms.
“They came on a train. Soon after receiving the information, we rushed to the spot and detained them. During the search, we seized a pistol. The two men, identified as Niraj Kumar and Indar Mukhia, are residents of Bihar. We are investigating the matter and will produce them before the court seeking police remand,” he added.
