“My entire family is supporting CPIM. Since March 02 when the results of the assembly elections were announced, my family members are coming under constant attack. My house was ransacked, and vandalized so many times.

The BJP supporters have launched an unprovoked attack on my house since election results were declared”, he said.

Sanjit’s father who runs a tea stall in front of his house was also allegedly ransacked by the BJP supporters and also vandalized his house too. The entire family is not getting fair justice despite informing the police again and again.

Unable to tolerate the violence, the family on Wednesday morning sat on the street drawing the attention of the Chief Minister and demanding security and justice.

“Board exams of my daughter are going on and amidst this, they have continued their attack. Even my brother’s auto also not allowed to ply on the road. We are living in a very pathetic way without any security. We never attacked anyone. How one can live this way. It’s better to die. These unruly people are not stopping. Despite informing the police we are not receiving any help. If the chief minister looks into the matter and can help us then only me and my entire family can live peacefully”, he said.

He claimed that the family spend the night in a neighbour’s house. Meanwhile, Sanjit's old father Babulal Lodh begged for the family's life with tears in his eyes.

He said the whole family wants to live properly and peacefully.

Soon after the incident, CPI state committee secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury visited the family and said, “Since March 02 in the Chanmari area the BJP supporters have unleashed a series of attacks. A woman had killed herself because of the trauma. Yesterday also some shops were vandalized. Today people in the area came into the street protesting the violence. Then a section of BJP leaders came and condemned the incident. The BJP workers also threatened the unruly to stop such attacks. If then also attacks not stopped then we shall take legal steps”.
