Tripura: Woman held with heroin of Rs 4 lakh in Agartala city

Tripura Police have arrested a woman from Guala Basti, located near Khejur Bagan area in Agartala city, and seized heroin worth Rs 4 lakh.

Addressing reporters, West District Superintendent of Police, Dr. Kiran Kumar, stated that the woman, identified as Kala Devi, had been clandestinely selling drugs for an extended period. Although she had been previously arrested, she had managed to secure bail.

"We received confidential information indicating that drugs were being sold from a shop in Guala Basti, situated near Khejur Bagan area in Agartala city, for quite some time. The woman identified as Kala Devi was apprehended during a raid on her residence. Subsequently, we seized approximately 33 grams of heroin, along with 100 small vials and 18,000 empty vials. During interrogation, she divulged additional names, and we are in the process of apprehending them. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around Rs 4 lakh," he added.
