Another accused in APSC scam granted Bail

Guwahati, January 12, 2019:

Surajit Chaudhry, one of the accused named in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) cash-for-jobs scam in the  has been granted bail by the Special Judge Court. Chaudhry, who is a real estate businessman by profession, was arrested in July, 2018.

Chaudhry was alleged to be a “middleman” who influenced a judicial officer to grant bail to arrested accused.

However, the judicial officer is yet to be investigated by Dibrugarh Police.

Chaudhary’s wife, Pallavi Sarma Chaudhary, who is among the suspended Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers was arrested earlier for getting her job through illegal means.
