Speaking on the sidelines of AAAWO’s “tribal women general assembly” in Kokrajhar on Saturday, she said, “Women working in tea gardens haven’t been able to cope up with the emerging society and move forward. In order to make them march ahead, they should be pulled out of where they are today”.
The Adivasi women’s engagement in the tea gardens has a cascading effect as they cannot give time to their families and children, she said.
Meanwhile, around 500 AAAWO delegates from 12 district committees took part in the second day’s proceedings of the tribal women general assembly on Saturday.
