Ajay Devgn's Father Veeru Devgan Passes Away

Mumbai, May 27, 2019:

Veeru Devgan, who is a veteran director as well as father of popular Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, passed away early in the morning on Monday at the age of 77.

Devgan was one of the most highly-respected action-cum-stunt directors in the industry. He worked as stunt director in more than 80 films, including ‘Kranti’, ‘Mr Natwarlal’, ‘Mr India’, ‘Shahenshah’ and ‘Tridev’.

The sad news was conveyed by Bollywood trade analyst-cum-film critic Taran Adarsh through his official Twitter handle. Adarsh tweeted: "Veeru Devgan passed away this morning [27 May 2019]... Father of Ajay Devgn... Veeru ji was an accomplished action director... Also directed

It may be mentioned that Ajay got his first big break in the industry, 'Phool Aur Kaante', due to his father.

Veeru Devgan is survived by wife Veena Devgn, two sons -- Ajay and Anil Devgn, and two daughters -- Kavita and Neelam Devgn.

Veeru Devgan had been unwell for sometime.

Meanwhile, Bollywood superstars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol and others paid a visit to Ajay Devgn and his family after the death of his father.

Shah Rukh is the best friend of Ajay's wife, Kajol, and the duo have delivered several blockbusters together.
