The security forces on Sunday seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition and apprehended six persons in Assam’s Golaghat district along with Nagaland border.
The accused have been identified as Khoyak Konyak, Kaimen Wing, Aka Sumi, Akash Ali, Tez Bahadur Chetri and Chetam Konyak.
According to reports, during checking, the Assam police and CRPF team had intercepted two auto rickshaws at Uriamghat Forest Tiniali area in Golaghat district along with Assam-Nagaland border.
The team recovered one AK-47 rifle with a magazine, 29 rounds live ammunition and five mobile phone handsets from their possession. The police had registered a case in connection to this case.
“Our police team and CRPF team had intercepted two auto rickshaw at Uriamghat Forest Tiniali area and during checking, we had recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, 29 rounds live ammunition and five mobile phones. Six persons were traveling in two auto rickshaws,” a police official said.
