Government of Arunachal Pradesh have set a new rule for the bikers who prefer to ride their bikes without wearing a helmet.
Looking at the increasing road accidents, Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate of Capital Complex, Vikram Singh Malik on Friday issued an order directing all the Petrol Pumps to prohibit refuelling of bikes of the riders without wearing a helmet.

Vikram Singh Malik, in the order, it was stated “The additional measures are required to ensure compliance of the provision of Motor Vehicle Act regarding wearing of a helmet for the two-wheeler riders. Therefore, in the interest of public safety from 20th July 2019 No petrol pump operator under the jurisdiction of the capital complex shall provide petrol to any two-wheeler rider not wearing a helmet.”
In its order, Malik had also asked the Superintendent of Police In-Charge of Traffic to intensify the challans of helmet related offenders as a precursor to start the campaign.
Malik also directed the Extra Assistant Commissioner of both Itanagar and Naharlagun to carry out a weekly review of CCTV footages at Petrol pumps to monitor the compliances of instruction by petrol pump.
