A smuggler, along with a rhino horn, was apprehended by the authorities in Bokajan Police Station in Assam's Karbi Anglong on Wednesday, February 5.

Based on a specific input of illegal transaction of a suspected rhino horn in the area by alleged smuggler, the SDPO of Bokajan, P K Pegu, launched an operation and apprehended the suspected smuggler.

The smuggler has identified himself as Lalkhongmang Kipgen (aged 40), and claims to be from Bokajan itself.
Meanwhile, the authorities have recovered the suspected rhino horn weighting around 510 grams. A Bajaj Platina bike bearing registration no. WB 20 R 3400 and a Nokia mobile handset along with SIM card were also seized from the smuggler in front of several witnesses.

The man has been booked by the police and a case has been registered against him under the relevant sections of the law.
