As militant organisations such as the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) become very much active, the Director General of Assam Police along with senior officials reviewed the current security scenario on Monday.
DGP Kuladhar Saikia speaking on the issue said that they took a stock of the law & order situation and security preparedness in the eastern most part of Assam in the past two days.
The DGP added that not only security but the police officials also checked on the issues related to the upcoming Panchayat elections.
It may be mentioned that over the past few days, the ULFA-I and other related militant groups have become very active in the areas of Upper Assam. Several reports of people being kidnapped as well as being killed have also been filed in the areas.
