Guwahati, April 6, 2019:

The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has been awarded the  best Minimum Operational Cost Award (without the Element of Tax), 2017-18; ASRTU Highest Tyre Performance Award 2017-18 and ASTRU Award for North Eastern State Transport Undertaking 2017-18 by the Association of State Road Transport Undertaken (ASRTU) during the 63rd Annual Conference of SRTUs held on March 26, 2019, at New Delhi.

Speaking to InsideNE, Managing Director of ASTC, Anand Prakash Tiwari said, “There is an institution called ASRTU created by all the state transport corporations that observes the performance in three criteria: ASRTU Minimum Operational Cost Award (without the Element of Tax), 2017-18; ASRTU Highest Tyre Performance Award 2017-18 and ASTRU Award for North Eastern State Transport Undertaking 2017-18. The ASRTU has found ASTC to be the best in all the three criteria and the fastest growing corporation. At least the ASTC has reached this place and we are hopeful to hear more good news in the coming days.”

“There are an endless number of setbacks, however, we are trying our best to overcome that. This year, we are trying to focus on distant business like providing transport to all the PSUs, and we have already provided services to ONGC. We’re working for transport policy for the entire state, electric buses to provide emission-free transportation and optimize utilization of fuel to make this corporation more profitable business entity,” he added.
