Employees of the Assam Secretariat have moved out of their offices to join the people protesting against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill, at Dispur in Guwahati.
According to reports, the employees have left all their official works and moved out into the streets to join the protests against the Bill in front of the Dispur Secretariat.

It is to be mentioned here that the situation in Assam is turning more volatile by the minute as the protesters have gone violent, after which the police and the security forces resorted to lathi charge to disperse the angry mob.
The police and security forces have also fired blanks at the protesters. It has also been seen that the authorities have used water cannons to disperse the angry mob.

Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha is discussing on the Citizenship Amendment Bill introduced by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
