Irrigation Minister Bhabesh Kalita dares Abhijeet Sharma to prove allegations of corruption

After Assam Public Works (APW) leader Abhijeet Sharma's made charges of corruption against the Assam Irrigation Department, state Irrigation Department Minister Bhabesh Kalita on Monday challenged Sharma to prove the allegations.

Addressing the media, Bhabesh Kalita said that the allegations made by Abhijeet Sharma have no base and challenged him to prove the allegations by on Tuesday.

The Minister said that he would felicitate Abhijeet Sharma if he is able to prove his allegations.

Kalita also mentioned that the allegation of corruption against the said schemes was of 2015 and the center has released Rs 20 crore for the schemes recently and no corruption is involved in it.

It is to be mentioned that the APW president had alleged rampant corruption (including job-related scams) have been going on in the Irrigation Department.
