The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) after winning an absolute majority in alliance with the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), is all set to form the government, with party leader Hemant Soren likely to be as the new Chief Minister of the state.
The JJM-led alliance with Congress and RJD won a majority in the Jharkhand elections by winning 47 seats in 81-member assembly. JJM won 30 seats, Congress 16 and RJD one seat.

Reportedly, Hemant Soren is most likely to stake claim to form the government and take oath on December 27 next. Hemant Soren won from both seats he contested -- Dumka and Barhait.
The JMM-led alliance, including the Congress and the RJD, secured 45 seats. Out of 75 seats, the JMM won 29 seats, the Congress 15 and the RJD 1, as per the results available till 10 PM.
The power-sharing formula for the 12 assembly seats is expected to be -- JMM: 6 berths, Congress: 5 berths and Speaker post, and RJD: 1 berth.
According to reports by different media, the grand swearing-in ceremony of Hemant Soren is most likely to be held at Morabadi ground in Ranchi. Currently, the winning parties have organized a legislative party meeting.

It is to be mentioned here that Chief Minister Raghubar Das lost his traditional Jamshedpur East seat by over 15,000 votes. This was Raghubar's first loss in an election in over 24 years. Raghubar Das resigned and was asked to continue as caretaker chief minister by state Governor Draupadi Murmu.
