Lovlina Borgohain Enters Semis at International Boxing Tournament in Russialovlina

Guwahati, August 1, 2019:

Asian gold-medallist Pooja Rani (75kg), world bronze-winner Lovlina Borgohain (69kg), and two others Indians have entered the semi-finals of the Magomed Salam Umakhanov Memorial International Boxing Tournament in Kaspiysk of Russia.

Lovlina defeated Russia's Anastasiya Sigaeva 5-0. She will next take on Belarus' Alina Veber for a berth in the final.

It is to be mentioned that Assam’s ace pugilist Lovlina Borgohain was last selected to represent the country in the Asian Boxing Championship to be held in Thailand capital Bangkok from April 19 to 28.

Lovlina has represented India internationally since 2016. Borgohain won a bronze medal for India at the 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships.
