Mizoram thrashes Punjab 9-0 in Junior Girls' football tourney

Kolhapur, April 22, 2019:

Girls from Mizoram have made the NorthEast proud thrashing Punjab with a score of 9-0 in the Hero Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2019-20 Group C League match held on Sunday. With this result, the Mizoram team has managed to enter the next round. The Championships are being held in Kolhapur in Maharashtra.

Forward player Lalrinmuani picked up a second-half brace and Captain Lalhlupuii Varte, Vanlalnghaki, K Ngopaw Di, and Nancy Lalhlimpuii also scored to complete the rout.

Meanwhile, former Champions Manipur also scored a 4-0 win against Uttarakhand in the Championship. They will be playing against Goa on Monday.
