Narendra Modi Takes Oath, Becomes PM Modi Again

New Delhi, May 30, 2019:

Narendra Modi has taken oath as the Prime Minister of India for a second successive term. The 68-year-old BJP leader took the oath against the spectacular backdrop of the Rashtrapati Bhavan with thousands gathered in the forecourt and millions watching on their TV screens. He ended his oath with "Bharat Mata ki Jai."

Surrounded by more than 5,000 guests and security staffers, Narendra Modi, 68, took the stage dressed in his trademark white kurta-pyjama and read the oath of office in Hindi.

Present at the glittering ceremony, held at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the same venue as in 2014, were high-profile world and national leaders and personalities.

He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Indian President Ramnath Kovind.

Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, DV Sadananda Gowda, Nirmala Sitharaman, Ram Vilas Paswan, Narendra Singh Tomar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsimrat Kaur, Thawar Chand, S Jaishankar, Ramesh Pokhriyal, Arjun Munda, Smriti Zubin, Dr Harsh Vardhan, Prakash Javdekar, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Pralhad Joshi, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Arvind Sawant, Giriraj Singh, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Rao Inderjit Singh, Shripad Yesso Naik, Dr Jitendra Singh, Kiren Rijiju, Prahlad Patel, RK Singh, Hardeep Singh Puri, Mansukh Lal Mandaviya, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Arjun Ram Meghwal, VK Singh, Krishan Pal Gurjar, Raosaheb Danve have also taken the oath so far.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received a huge number of votes in the 2019 General elections and the Congress got swept away in yet another Tsunamo wave. The party won 303 Seats by itself and 353 along with its NDA allies.
