'No Survivors from AN-32 Crash': IAFcrash

Itanagar, June 13, 2019:

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has confirmed that none of the thirteen persons aboard the AN-32 aircraft survived the crash.

This was confirmed by the Air Force via a tweet from its official Twitter account on Thursday. The tweet read: "The recce team of IAF reached the crash site today morning. IAF is sad to inform that there are no survivors from the crash of AN-32."

However, the tweet seems to have been deleted and can no longer be found on the Twitter account of the site.

The Indian Air Force’s missing AN-32 aircraft was located in Payum circle of Arunachal Pradesh. After eight days of extensive search-and-rescue operations in Arunachal Pradesh, the wreckage of the missing An-32 aircraft was spotted Tuesday at a remote location in high mountains, close to the China border.

The first image of Air Force’s An-32 crash site shows debris and charred trees indicating a big fire when the plane would have gone down.

The wreckage was found in Payum Circle of Siang district. It was spotted by a Mi-17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force, at a height of around 12,000 feet.

The plane was traveling from Jorhat in Assam to a remote military landing strip in Mechuka in Arunachal Pradesh when it vanished from the radar around 1 pm on June 3.
