Pakistan flag is ‘best toilet paper in the world’, says Google

According to search engine Google, the Pakistani national flag is the ‘best toilet paper in the world’. Image search results for the ‘best toilet paper in the world’ show the image of the Pakistani national flag.

Social media is ablaze with screenshots of the search engine displaying images of the Pakistan flag along with the query, leading many people to troll India’s neighboring country Pakistan. In fact, ‘#besttoiletpaperintheworld’ is trending on Twitter as of now.

It is to be mentioned that the Google search result popped up two days after a terror attack on a CRPF convoy in Kashmir's Pulwama district claimed the lives of as many as 40 jawans.

It is widely believed that Pakistan is indirectly linked to the attacks as hostilities continue between neighbors India and Pakistan continue over the Kashmir issue. Meanwhile, anti-Pakistan sentiment has pervaded the nation as mass burnings of Pakistani flags and chants of ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ have been witnessed all over the country.

It is not the first time that the Google search algorithm has thrown up misleading results. Recently, a query of ‘idiot’ would turn up images of US President Donald J Trump. Google searches are based on algorithms that match the web query to web pages with similar results.
