A pregnant woman, along with her two sisters were allegedly stripped and tortured in Burha Police Outpost in Assam’s Darrang district.
They were, reportedly, picked from their residence in Guwahati and taken to Burha Police Outpost after the Police were unable to trace their brother.
The Police were in search of their brother, who allegedly fled with a woman. The latter’s family had filed a complaint in the Burha Police Outpost in Darrang.
The women have alleged the Officer-in-charge, Mahendra Sarma. They alleged that the latter Sarma, along with a woman constable had stripped and tortured them the whole night.
The incident occurred on September 9 and it came to light after images and videos surfaced online. The three sisters took to the media to share the barbaric act of the Police.
As per reports, the pregnant woman was carrying for two months and 22 days but the pregnancy had to be terminated after she sustained injuries in the Burha Police Outpost.
The three women have, reportedly, tried to register a case against the OC. However, Police is yet to comment on the Darrang case.
