Desh ke Hum Santaan Hain,
Tin Rangon Se Rang Tiranga;
Apni Ye Pehchaan Hain”
This nationalistic poem was recited by Ladakh MP, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, the latest 'star' in the Indian political scenario, whose speech in the Parliament is making waves across the nation.
Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, a young lawmaker of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Ladakh, made a fiery speech in the Parliament yesterday during a discussion on the contentious J&K Reorganization Bill.
The young BJP lawmaker came down heavily on the Congress Party and said that Ladakh had been ignored for seven decades.
The young BJP lawmaker said, “Many have mentioned about Leh and Ladakh, but they were never accepted by the people, as it is believed to be a barren piece of land.” Namgyal, 34, also, questioned whether people know about Ladakh or they have been just reading books.

He said that that the people of Ladakh have struggled for 71 years to get recognition as Union Territory and mentioned that the people had urged the then-Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru not to merge Ladakh with Kashmir, but lamented that it was not heard.
The sterile development, political aspiration and other drawbacks were a result of the Article 370 and the Congress party”, he complained.
Reminding the house that the people of Ladakh have made sacrifices in the wars of 1965, 1971 as well as the 1999 Kargil war, Namgyal added, “They have always been prepared to die for the nation.”
Slamming Kashmiri leaders Mufti and Abdullah in the house, he continued, “My friend asked me that by losing Article 370, what are we going to lose, and I told him that we will lose two time bread of two families, and the future of Kashmir will be bright.”
“Kargil is being mentioned here to mislead the Parliament, but I, on behalf of Kargil, say that people have voted for the UT,” he added.
“When Rajnath Singh visited Leh, all the political and non political organizations raised a demand for a Union Territory", he added.
Storming the house with the statement “Abhi toh Trailer Hain” over the opposition’s uproar, Namgyal further added, “The leaders who speak of Democracy and equality, are taking away all the funds that are being released for Kashmir. Not even 10 Ladakhis are offered jobs, how is that 'equality'?"
Lauding the Narendra Modi Government for providing higher educational institutions in Ladakh, Namgyal commented “Modi Hain Toh Mumkin Hain” (If there is Modi, everything is possible).
He alleged that the Congress party has misused the Article 370 to 'wash away' the Buddhists from the region and tried to induce fights between the people of Ladakh and Kashmir.
The MP made a remarkable speech at the Parliament making the legislators in the house laugh out loud over his humorous statement against the opposition. The video of the MP's speech is being shared widely shared on social media platforms and is now 'trending' on YouTube at #6.
