GUWAHATI: A day after the victory of UPPL in the Assam By polls, its Chief Pramod Boro has stated that Hagrama Mohilary's Bodo People's Front (BPF) will cease to exist soon.
"The sun has set for BPF and at the time of dusk no nobody wants to stay. Hence, their council will have to either move to BJP or UPPL", said Bodo while interacting with media.
Taking a jibe at Mohilary, Bodo said that BPF's 'own leader is planning to leave then what people should wait for?'
"BPF was party without any mission or vision. Hagrama Mohilary have termed the party as an opportunist party", he added.
Taking about their victory, Boro said that UPPL will have to work towards the welfare of the state as well as BTR.
"There were lots of bloodshed, murder and violence in the BTR areas earlier. Corruption completely damaged the administration of the area, we are trying to work on it. Under the governance of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, we wish to move forward", he said.
After a tense battle for the 5 seats in Assam, BJP and its ally UPPL won all five seats in the Assam By polls. BJP’s Sushanta Borgohain won the Thowra assembly seat by a margin of 30,561 votes.
UPPL candidate Jiron Basumatary and Jolen Daimary won the Gossaigaon and Tamulpur seats by a margin of 28,252 and over 50,000 votes respectively.
