A suspected rhino poacher was nabbed by the Nagaon Police on Tuesday from Ghunabari area of Rupohihat in Assam’s Nagaon district.
Based on an intelligence input, Nagaon Police had launched a search operation led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) John Das and police personnel Sumeshwar Konwar and Anjushree Kalita. During the operation, a suspected rhino poacher was nabbed.

The accused has been identified as Mohammad Abu Hasim. The police recovered 7 live round cartridges from the poacher. Hasim has been named in several Rhino poaching cases earlier.
Reports reveal that he was planning a Rhino Poaching expedition in Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary in November.
