Koloriang MLA Pani Taram has formally reopened the Kurung bridge in the Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh, which borders China.
The bridge was washed away due to heavy rains and flash floods on June 28 and has now been restored by NHIDCL.
Kurung Kumey district was the worst-hit area in the state due to heavy rains, landslides, and mudslides. Several roads, culverts, and RCC bridges were damaged.
A major bridge over the Kurung River was washed away on June 30, cutting off the district from the rest of the world. Despite weather challenges, restoration work began under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Vishaka Yadav.
