Arunodaya University of Arunachal Pradesh celebrated its 5th Convocation Ceremony with a remarkable display of academic excellence, where 80% of the graduates were female, with many emerging as toppers. Among them, Yania Rakhe stood out as the University Topper, securing the prestigious Gold Medal, setting a powerful example of women’s strength and perseverance in education.
A total of 97 students were awarded their degrees during the event, and an impressive 8 departmental Gold Medalists were also honored. These toppers attributed their success to hard work, determination, and the guidance they received from their mentors.
The one-day ceremony blended tradition with ambition, bringing together students, faculty, parents, and distinguished guests. The event was graced by Prof. Narendranath S, Director of NERIST (North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology), who served as the Chief Guest. Additionally, Prof. Jayadeba Sahoo, Senior Professor at RGU (Rajiv Gandhi University), and Prof. M. M. Mohapatra, Principal of Hills College of Teachers Education, were present as Guests of Honour.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the conferring of degrees to the University Topper and Departmental Toppers. The Controller of Examination administered the Convocation Pledge to all graduates.

Yania Rakhe, the University Topper and recipient of the Gold Medal, delivered an inspiring speech urging women to break free from societal barriers and biases that often hold them back from realizing their full potential. She emphasized the importance of self-belief and hard work in achieving one’s goals, encouraging women and girls to aim high and persevere in the face of adversity.
Kumod Kumar Jha, the Deputy Registrar, shared his thoughts on the transformative power of education, stating, “In this world, changing one’s behavior after receiving education is key. If education doesn’t change one's mindset, it remains meaningless.”
Prof. Narendranath S, the Chief Guest and Director of NERIST, also took the opportunity to speak to the youth, urging them to set clear goals and work relentlessly to achieve them. He strongly discouraged involvement in drugs or alcohol, advocating for focus, discipline, and dedication towards a successful future.
This year’s convocation ceremony at Arunodaya University not only highlighted academic excellence but also celebrated the empowering role of women in shaping the future of the state and the nation.
