Assam: Blood-soaked body of youth found along NH-17 in Gauripur

A blood-soaked body of a youth was recovered this morning, December 26 near the Targhat Bridge in Gauripur, Dhubri, causing sensation in the region. The body was found along National Highway 17, under the jurisdiction of Gauripur Police Station.  

The deceased has been identified as Rahul Sheikh (21), a resident of Telipara village in the Beldamara area. Authorities suspect the youth was murdered and his body dumped at the location.  

A mobile phone was recovered near the body, and a team from Gauripur Police arrived at the scene to recover the remains. The body has been sent to Dhubri Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination. Reports suggest that the Gauripur Police have already launched an investigation into the incident.
