Tension gripped Urbashi Brahma Memorial High School in Kashikotra, Chirang district, after three students were allegedly assaulted by the headmaster on Teachers’ Day.
According to reports, an altercation broke out between two groups of students yesterday over loud music and dancing during the celebrations.
The situation escalated when headmaster Krusheswar Goyari allegedly struck three students—Gokul Barman and Tuhin Barman of Class IX, and Akash Barman of Class VII—with a bamboo stick, leaving them injured.

Outraged by the incident, agitated parents and students surrounded the headmaster today, demanding accountability.
The protest created a heated situation on the school premises, prompting the arrival of education department officials and police personnel to bring the situation under control.
The assault has sparked strong resentment among parents in Kashikotra. A group of guardians has lodged a formal complaint against the headmaster at Sidli police station, seeking strict action.
