Assam: Coal-laden truck attacked by alleged associates of Digboi MLA Suren Phukan

In a sensational incident, a coal laden truck and its driver was attacked by the alleged associates of Digboi MLA on November 6 at National Highway 315. 

As per preliminary reports, few miscreants, alleged to be associated of Digboi MLA Suren Phukan attacked the driver of the coal carrying truck with machete, hockey sticks in Digboi's Gopineri area under Tinsukia district. The coal laden truck was coming from Margheritra when few miscreants attacked the vehicle and its driver. The driver was reportedly beaten black and blue. 

Surprisingly, even after repeated calls, police failed to reached the spot on time even when eyewitnesses called the police. 

It is noteworthy, Digboi MLA Suren Phuken had launched a drive against illegal coal and timber smuggling at NH 315 in Digboi few months ago.
