As per sources, the victim was attacked by her brother, Abhishek Mallik, who allegedly stabbed her in the abdomen during the early afternoon hours on Saturday October 19. The incident occurred around 1 pm when no other family members were present in the house.
Abhishek, the son of former Tezpur B.Ed College principal Jayanta Mallik, reportedly carried out the assault in what appears to be a sudden and unprovoked act of violence.
