A man was found shot dead in the Kakojan Reserve Forest of Doomdooma un der Tinsukia district on December 22.
The victim, identified as Subrata Tanti, sustained fatal injuries from gunshots believed to have been fired from a handmade firearm. Police confirmed the presence of gunshot wounds on the body.
While the motive behind the killing and the identity of the perpetrator remain unclear, authorities have launched a detailed investigation.
The police have intensified their operations in the reserve forest to uncover the circumstances surrounding the crime.
Reports indicate that Tanti was in the forest with two companions at the time of the incident. However, both individuals have since fled the scene, raising further suspicion.
As of now, no witnesses have come forward, and the case remains shrouded in mystery.
