Preparations are in full swing for the Me-Dam-Me-Phi festival, a revered religious and cultural observance of the Tai Ahom community, set to take place in Margherita, Tinsukia district on January 30 and 31.
The two-day event will include a series of cultural programs and traditional ceremonies to pay homage to ancestors and seek blessings for the well-being of both the community and the nation.
As a key highlight, renowned educationist and literary figure Pranob Gogoi, former principal of Margherita College, will be honored with the prestigious Jnati Mahiyan Award 2025 in recognition of his lifelong contributions to the Tai Ahom community.
The festival is being organized under the leadership of Mintu Deodhai Phukan (President), Rupam Gogoi (Working President), and Ranajyoti Neog (Chief Secretary), with extensive arrangements in place for a grand and meaningful celebration.
