The ongoing debate over whether beef should be banned in Assam has prompted significant political responses. Speaking on the controversy, Assam minister Ranjeet Das said that if Congress submits a written letter to the Chief Minister, then a discussion on the matter can be done in the cabinet meeting.
The BJP has criticized Congress, accusing them of presenting a facade of secularism and accusing the party of initiating petty politics.
BJP leader Ranjeet Das has openly supported RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's controversial comments, which advocated for families to have at least three children and suggested that only families with five members should qualify for ration cards.

Lastly, speaking on the variety of potatoes being imported from outside, minister Ranjeet Das said that many believe those potatoes are imported from West Bengal, but after a close observation one will know from where the potatoes are being imported. Retail traders are allegedly exploiting this misunderstanding for financial gain".
