A major fire broke out at Baghmara in Bijni under Chirang district of Assam on Monday April 24.
As per reports, the fire broke out at the residence of one Hanif Ali, a resident of Baghmara. Due to the fire, more than Ten lakh rupees of dead jute stored in the courtyard were gutted in the fire.
Locals suspect that some miscreants may have set fire by taking advantage of the darkness.
Later, the fire brigade of Bijni reached the spot and doused the fire.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the local police based in claims made by the locals.
